

Dr. Mankey completed his subspecialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the combined Harvard program of Massachusetts General and McLean Hospitals. There, he was trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, family therapy, and other modalities.
He also received expert education and experience using psychiatric medications with children and adolescents.
Dr. Mankey engages children and their parents in a thorough evaluation process, thinks comprehensively about the many variables that could contribute to their challenges, and collaborates with them to determine the best treatment plan. He is skilled in combining various therapeutic styles to find a good fit for each child and readily forms therapeutic relationships with true concern for each individual and family.
Dr. Mankey takes a conservative approach to using psychiatric medications in children, and provides significant education about the various treatment options. He is experienced in treating many types of symptoms and conditions found in childhood and adolescence, some of which are listed in the left margin of this page. He is certified in the subspecialty field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Having recently relocated to Austin, TX to be closer to family, Dr. Mankey is excited to provide outstanding and personalized psychiatric care to the people of Austin, Westlake Hills and surrounding communities.
